Strings at Elsewhere

As part of a month long artist residency at Elsewhere Living Museum in Greensboro NC, I restored instruments and old projects to pair with instruments of my own. The intent is to stage a duet, open up, if only for a short while a collaborative platform that considers past artists, myself, and guests in Elsewhere, a functioning albeit always changing museum. This video features Lady’s Harp, conceived by Daniel Fishkin. goelsewhere.org/ladys-harp/

The harp has been repaired in a rudimentary way, not fully functional, but musically interesting nonetheless.
It’s partner instrument is a standing string instrument built from wood, glass, piano strings, contact mics, motors, and cloth.

This video was filmed by Guillermo Leon Gomez. www.cargocollective.com/guillermoleongomez
