I was trying to create a performance piece for a large group using MAX, ProTools, amps, feedback and card dealers
that I imagined performing in Nightingale Hall in Reno. While the piece is still in the works, I also used ProTools to create
a sample of what I thought I might try to do with the performers providing rhythm and effects examples. The final
composition uses only card sounds and feedback.
The piece considers home. Eerie dark corners and a mood that came
along with a great deal of time and finding the way. There is a sound, the hum of hardcore bands and indie rockers in the
basement, but shuffling cards quickly drown them out.
